
Bio – Katrina Rook-Slawski
Katrina Rook-Slawski was born in Bydgoszcz, Poland, where she earned her Fine Art Secondary School Diploma with Honours in Graphic Techniques before moving to Toronto, Canada in 1994. With over 20 years of experience spanning fine arts, graphic design, interior decorating, architectural visualization, and film design, she brings a multidisciplinary perspective to every project.
After completing her Interior Decorating Certificate with Honours at Sheridan College, Katrina launched Art House Interiors, where she leads interior and architectural design projects from concept through completion. Her work has been recognized with multiple awards, including the 2015 Victoria + Albert International Design Award and Reno & Décor Magazine’s Best Bathroom Transformation. She has also been featured on CBC Life and Coral Channel/RTR Media’s Interior Design Lifestyle DIY Series.
Since 2015, Katrina has expanded her creative practice into film and television, working as a Production Designer, Art Director, and Set Designer. As a member of the Directors Guild of Canada, she specializes in concept development, AutoCAD technical drawings, and 3D visualization for set design, collaborating with directors and production teams to achieve unique visual identities.
In addition to her design practice, Katrina is a passionate design educator, having taught at Sheridan College and Toronto Film School. She is known for her ability to mentor aspiring professionals through hands-on learning and project-based teaching.
Her expertise spans interior and architectural design, staging, décor, film production design, fine art, and photography—always grounded in a strong sense of aesthetics, creativity, and attention to detail.
